Fish first cast!

You often hear about people catching a fish first cast but sadly it has never happened to myself - until last Friday.

Conditions looked epic and Matt and I were playing about with a pair of rods from Tulala.

Matt kindly put me onto a gully, i cast out the Illex Ishad using the Glissando 72 rod. Closed the bail arm over and whack! Fish on!

After several super charged runs I landed this fine Bass.

A moment I will never forget.

Weather looks decent this week so fingers crossed.

Stay tuned.

Fishing up the gullies ......

Another night out on the rocks produced this little bass. Sport has been good ..... just waiting for the conditions now and hope we bump into a few bigger ones.

Weedless set up is a must due to the amount of suspended weed in the water.

As always white is proving quite deadly.

Tight lines.

Steve.

June Edition - Sea Trout on soft plastics.

June edition of Irish Angler is on the shelves now - perhaps a somewhat less conventional way of catching sea trout but something to try and get your teeth stuck into.

It is not as successful as small metals or plugs but will certainly test your patience and presentation skills.

Anyway, grab yourself a copy and have a read.

Tight lines,

Steve.

Little schoolie to paddle tail.

Just a quick snap shot of a bass caught the other evening on an Illex Ammonite Shad. Rigged simply with a 5g Texas, Weedless Jig Head.

Plenty more to come just waiting on the weather to wise up - stay tuned.
